An important factor in selecting accommodation in Galway, we’ve got this covered superbly. Park your car in our off-street car park and let your feet take you where you want to go.
The Salthill Prom lies within a stone’s throw of our front door; spectacular Galway Bay stretches left and right along the Promenade.
Walk Left
10 minutes by foot takes you to the centre of Galway City. First the grassy South Park with a remarkable view of Quay Street, The Long Walk and the Spanish Arch—you can see the buzz and excitement of city centre, but you hear only the breeze off the bay, the seabirds, and children playing in the park. Then along the quayside and up past the Claddagh, swans gliding by where the Corrib River spills into Galway Bay. Over the Wolfe Tone Bridge and you’re suddenly within the very heart of The City of the Tribes.
Walk Right
10 minutes walk along the 2km Salthill Promenade takes you into Salthill, featuring the Seapoint Leisure Centre with heated swimming pool, the national aquarium (Galway Atlantaquaria), and amusements in abundance for children of all ages. The stroll along the Salthill Promenade (the Prom, to locals) is a favourite walk for Galwegians.
The Prom follows the shore of Galway Bay, beside sandy beaches and affording beautiful views across the bay to the hills of Clare and out beyond the bay to the Aran Islands. The tradition is to walk to the end and kick the wall at Blackrock before returning to Galway City.
